Thursday

Day Eleven

Today, Thursday, is our last day in China...we take a midnight flight home to Los Angeles, and arrive on the SAME DAY at 11pm! Everyone we talk to says "If you think the jet lag is bad GOING to Asia, it's 10 times worse upon your return". We will see...

Today we decided to roam around in some air conditioned stores and pick up something special for our delightful, wonderful, and precious children. Bill is a big believer in buying something nice as a memory of a trip well enjoyed! He was also dying to return to a store he and his father and brother shopped at back in the early 1990's when they were visiting Hong Kong regularly on business: King & Country, which sells tiny metal collectible soldiers.

Lucky for ME, this store was in the Pacific Place Mall... a glorious bright and cheerful mall with a mix of high and middle end stores, as well as the British department stores Mark & Spencer, and Harvey Nichols (what a food court!).
